Cardinal Volleyball Celebrates National Signing Day

Easterwood and Hodge Commit to Play Collegiate Volleyball

Today we had the privilege of honoring two outstanding student-athletes who have earned the opportunity to continue their academic and athletic careers at the NCAA level. Aubrey and Summer have both played an integral role in advancing our volleyball program into one of the most competitive private school programs in Texas.

Aubrey made an immediate impact during her sophomore season, helping the Cardinals achieve the program's first-ever 30-win season and their first winning district record in over five years, finishing as the TAPPS District 2-6A Runner-Up. When Summer joined the team for their junior campaign, the pair proved to be a dynamic duo—Aubrey dominating at the net with her blocking and hitting, and Summer anchoring the defense with her relentless back-row play. Together, they propelled the program to new heights, including a historic 40-win season in 2024 and the Cardinals' first trip to the State Tournament. Their senior season was another milestone year, with 30 wins and another district runner-up finish.
Aubrey will be heading to the East Coast to play at Providence College. Throughout her career as a JPII Cardinal, she has established herself as one of the top middle blockers in the state. With a hitting percentage over .400 and more than 100 blocks this season alone, her performance has been exceptional. Aubrey has been named to the AVCA Phenom List for three consecutive years and has helped her team earn the AVCA Academic Award each season. Her numerous honors include multiple All-Tournament selections, TAPPS 1st Team All-District and All-State recognition, and being named the team's Offensive Player of the Year. This year, she served as a team captain, leading with integrity, energy, and heart. Her work ethic and love for the game have left a lasting mark on our program. We look forward to celebrating her many accomplishments at our banquet next week and can't wait to see all that she achieves at Providence.

Summer will also be traveling east to continue her academic and athletic career at Lehigh University. Since joining the Cardinal volleyball program last year, Summer has been an incredible addition—her defensive consistency and ball control perfectly complemented the team's powerful offense. She has earned recognition on multiple AVCA Watch Lists and received the prestigious AVCA Best and Brightest Award for her excellence in the classroom. In her first season as a Cardinal, she recorded over 500 digs and earned TAPPS 1st Team All-District, All-State, and All-Tournament honors at the State Tournament. This year, she once again led the team defensively with 636 digs and added 63 aces, while also earning Academic All-State honors and recognition as a National Honor Society Junior Medalist. Summer's impact on this program has been tremendous, and we know Lehigh is gaining not only a talented athlete but an exceptional student and leader.
Congratulations, Aubrey and Summer! Your dedication, leadership, and love for the game have elevated JPII Volleyball, and we can't wait to see all you accomplish at the next level.
