On behalf of the Cardinal Family, welcome to John Paul II High School!
We are entering a new era in Cardinal Athletics, where the expectation from our coaching staff is clear: outwork everyone. This simple yet powerful expectation is rooted in our Catholic faith, which teaches us the value of perseverance, discipline, and humility. It is through hard work, guided by faith, that we believe our student-athletes are placed in the best position to succeed, both on and off the field.
A steadfast work ethic is essential to their success, whether on the gridiron, in the classroom, or in their personal lives. As Catholics, we know that our efforts are not only for our own glory but also for the greater good and the service of others. This message is constantly reinforced by our dedicated coaches, who strive to instill in each athlete the importance of working with integrity and devotion.
But teaching our student-athletes how to play a game is only part of what we do.
We teach them to develop self-discipline to endure, trust in their teammates and coaches, and grow in resilience when faced with challenges. We emphasize the need to exhibit humility in victory and grace in defeat, reflecting the virtues taught by Christ. As someone who has walked the path as a former collegiate and professional football player, I can personally attest that these lessons, grounded in faith, are the ones that will serve our athletes the most in their future endeavors.
It is a true privilege for me to be part of this Cardinal Family, where we grow not only as athletes but as individuals of faith and character.
I invite you to join us on this journey of faith, excellence, and community.
