About the Program

The John Paul II Girls Volleyball Program is led by Head Coach Amanda Lee. The Cardinals compete in TAPPS 6A, the highest classification of private school athletics in Texas, and are members of District 2-6A alongside Bishop Lynch Catholic School, Legacy Christian Academy, and Prestonwood Christian Academy.

Entering its 22nd varsity season, the program includes more than 45 student-athletes across multiple levels. Under Coach Lee's leadership, the Cardinals have experienced unprecedented success, including the program's first-ever appearance at the TAPPS State Tournament and its first 40-win season. The team has finished as the TAPPS District 2-6A Runner-Up in each of the last two seasons and continues to compete against some of the top programs in the state.

John Paul II Volleyball is committed to providing student-athletes with high-level competitive opportunities, including annual travel to an out-of-state tournament that allows players to compete against elite competition while creating lifelong memories with their teammates.

Coaching Philosophy

Coaching and teaching share many of the same principles. Our goal is to develop the complete athlete by emphasizing technical fundamentals, volleyball IQ, mental performance, and character development.

We believe that being a great teammate is just as important as being a great player. Every athlete is expected to contribute to a positive team culture built on accountability, trust, effort, and selflessness.

Our season is divided into three phases: preseason, district play, and postseason. The preseason is intentionally challenging, both physically and mentally, to prepare our athletes for the demands of district competition and playoff volleyball. Through adversity, our players learn resilience, discipline, and the confidence needed to perform at their highest level when it matters most.

Our mission is to develop young women who compete with excellence, lead with integrity, and represent John Paul II with pride both on and off the court.
