David is in his 5th season with the John Paul II High School baseball program. From 2013 through 2015, David was the Varsity Head Baseball Coach for the Home School Athletic Association (HSAA) Angels. During that time, the Angels won the National Championship Homeschool World Series in 2013, 2014, and 2015. With 30+ years of coaching experience, David has coached at all levels, from recreational to select/travel teams, from 8U through college.

David played college baseball at Pepperdine University and was a member of the 1992 NCAA National Championship team. He also played his summer collegiate baseball in the Alaskan League with the Matsu Miners and the Cape Cod League with the Wareham Gatemen.

David was a three-year varsity baseball letterman at Kamehameha High School in Hawaii. He was the starting shortstop on the Hawaii State Championship teams in 1987 and 1988 and the Hawaii All-State team in 1988. In the summer of 1988, he was selected as the shortstop for the Select Hawaii state team and traveled to Japan for a three-game series against the top three Japanese high schools.

Born and raised in Hawaii, David arrived in Texas in 2000 via San Jose, CA. David and his wife, Wendy, have three children: Jaime, Keely, and Trinity.
