About Girls Soccer

About the Program
The Varsity Girls Soccer Head Coach is Mr. Jeremy Morse and the Varsity Girls Assistant Coach is Ms. Ashley McMurtry.  We compete in TAPPS 6A Division I District 2.  We have 30 student-athletes in our program this year.  Its a Winter Sport and we compete on Monday and Thursday nights.  We practice on A Days from 8:00-9:30am and then on B Day mornings during season from 7:00-8:00am.

Coaching Philosophy
We seek to develop the mental, physical and spiritual character of the female student-athlete through training, competition and group events.  Players are coached using the core values of education, teamwork, discipline, fun and personal accomplishment.  Opportunities for growth are provided through individual instruction, collective direction and game experience.

Program Goals
Our goal is for our female student-athletes to leave the JPII Girls Soccer program better human beings.  By modeling leadership, service and most importantly family and faith, we hope our players grow to become impassioned leaders in the community as well as strong wives and mothers who love God.

Program History
JPII Girls Soccer is in its 12th year.  In that time, we have reached the State Semifinal three times and State Final once (2017-18).  Last year, we finished 3rd in district which included teams like Ursuline, Bishop Lynch and Nolan Catholic.  That same year, we also had two All-State award winners, forward Abbi Bennett and defender Brianna Mulderrig.  Currently, seven former players are competing at the college level around the country in all three divisions of the NCAA in Womens Soccer.
