Standout athletes of the meet were
Caden Kitler and
Samantha Ennin, who earned two golds each. One a senior, the other a freshman, both scored big points for their teams. "Caden and Samantha are what I like to call 'coachable athletes'", said head coach
Jeff Jackson. "When coaching/speaking with these athletes you can see them listening (focusing on what you are actually saying) and seeing how to implement the coaching points into accomplishing their goals. Athletes are responsible for their results. Coaches help them get there faster. Being coachable is learning to take feedback and critique, then applying it to the desired result. Caden has been a top athlete for several years, in large part due to his coachability. Samantha looks to be figuring it out sooner than later."
The team added nearly 60 PRs on Saturday afternoon, too many to list according to Jackson. "But with all these accomplishments comes team success!" Jackson also wanted to highlight senior thrower
Luke Jackson, who celebrated his Eagle Court of Honor this weekend after becoming an Eagle Scout.
The Cardinals are back in action on Saturday this week as they compete in the Parish Invitational, hosted by Parish Episcopal School in Dallas.
