Nick Schiele ‘08

Coach Schiele is entering his 14th year at John Paul II High School. Schiele, a founding member of John Paul II High School and graduate of the Class of 2008, spent three years as a football and baseball player during his time as a student, earning TAPPS All-District honors in both sports, as well as All-State honors in 2007. While attending Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, he received his degree in English and returned to the DFW metroplex to begin working as a teacher and coach. Schiele taught English for six years at John Paul II and served as an assistant coach with the Cardinal Baseball and Cardinal Football teams. In 2018-2019, Schiele transitioned to athletics full-time and began working as the Sports Information Director. With his help, the Athletic Department at John Paul II has thrived, gaining attention on the local, state, and national levels while he has helped to promote and tell the story of Cardinal Athletics. Since then he has worked as the Director of Transportation and served as the Head Football Coach for three years. He currently coordinates the Special Teams and teaches in the English department. Nick lives in Garland with his wife Katie, also a JPII alumnus, along with their son Riley, daughter Emmie, and dog Pauli.
