Coach Mike Schmeck is a 2009 graduate of John Paul II High School and is in his 7th year as a baseball assistant and 5th year as a social studies teacher. Prior to working at John Paul II, coach Schmeck taught and coached at Woodrow Wilson and Thomas Jefferson High School in Dallas ISD for 3 years. As a Cardinal, Schmeck was an All-District football and baseball player. As a senior, Schmeck signed with the Naval Academy to become the school's first ever military appointment before transferring to the University of the Ozarks and playing at the division III level for a year. Coach Schmeck also coaches select baseball with the Dulins Dodgers baseball club.
