Amanda Lee was born and raised in Houston, Texas graduating from Alief Elsik High School. After a standout prep career, she earned a Division I scholarship to play collegiately at The University of Texas at Arlington. She earned a BA in Exercise and Sports Studies and in 2011 completed her master’s degree in educational leadership from UTA.
Amanda began her coaching career at Trinity Valley School where she won three SPC Championships, was named Private School Coach of the Year, and coached the 2000 Gatorade Player of the Year and High School All American, Brittany Ringel. At All Saints, she took a struggling program and helped lead them to back-to-back conference championship appearances. In 2012, Lee accepted the position of Head Varsity Volleyball Coach and Assistant Athletic Director at Episcopal High School in Bellaire, Texas. Coach Lee has tallied over 500 coaching victories in her career and captured two additional SPC Championships during her tenure at Episcopal raising her total to 5 for her career.
While living in the DFW area Lee coached with the Texas Advantage volleyball program for 14 years, and when she moved back to Houston she began coaching with Houston Skyline Juniors. She coached at Skyline for 8 years and her teams qualified for nationals the last six of those years. In 2017 she was named the Coaches Skyline Award winner.
In her first season at JPII, she earned her 500th career victory and helped her Cardinals earn a program high 30 wins and was named TAPPS District 2-6A Coach of the Year. In 2024 her Cardinals had the best season in school history accomplishing over 40 wins and the program’s first trip to the TAPPS state tournament. Coaching is her passion and she has enjoyed the opportunity to work with so many amazing young women. She is married to head men’s basketball coach Dan Lee and they have six children together. Their daughters, Kansas, Tatum and Trinity have all graduated college and their sons, Trajan, Logan and Griffin are still in school. They enjoy spending time with them when they are not in the gym as well as their new granddaughter, Naomi Jade.
