Coach Jonathan Scott is in his first year coaching with the Cardinals. Scott attended Carter High School in Dallas, where he was a three-sport athlete. While in high school, Scott played in the first-ever U.S. Army All-American Bowl on December 30, 2000.
Scott played college football for the University of Texas, and was recognized as a unanimous All-American and played for coach Mack Brown's Texas Longhorns football team from 2002 to 2005. He was a first-team All-Big 12 selection at offensive tackle in 2004 and following his senior season in 2005, he was a first-team All-Big 12 selection again, and was recognized as a unanimous first-team All-American. Scott was a member of the 2005 Longhorns team that defeated USC in the Rose Bowl to win the BCS National Championship.
He was drafted by the Detroit Lions (2006-2007) in the fifth round of the 2006 NFL Draft, and has also played for the Buffalo Bills (2008-2009) and the Pittsburgh Steelers (2010-2011). During his 6+ year NFL career, Scott played in 70 games, starting in 35.
